HBI’s 14 Day Vienna to Budapest

 (Vienna - Bratislava - Brno - Prague - Wraclow - Warsaw - Krakow - Budapest)

DAY   1 :: India - Arrive in Vienna, Austria (D)

Catch flight from Mumbai  by TK 721 at 0555 hrs. Arrive in Istanbul at 1015 hrs. Transfer to connecting flight to Vienna by TK 1885 at 1205 hrs. Arrive in Vienna at 1325 hrs. Time to rest or to explore the capital of Austria. At 6 pm, meet your Tour Director and traveling companions for a welcome dinner at your hotel. Overnight in Vienna.

DAY   2 :: In Vienna (B,L)

Breakfast in hotel. Meet your Local Guide and start your sightseeing with a Local Guide in Vienna, once the center of the mighty Habsburg Empire. Enjoy the vistas of Prater Park with its giant Ferris wheel, and the United Nations City on the banks of the Danube River. Then, drive along Ring Boulevard, pass the State Opera House, the Jewish quarter, and stop at the Hofburg Palace, winter residence of the Austrian Imperial family. Marvel at the impressive courtyards and famous Heldenplatz, and visit awesome St. Stephen’s Cathedral. The afternoon is free and two optionals are available. Tonight is your chance to sample Vienna’s fine restaurants and nightlife! Overnight in Vienna.

DAY   3 :: Vienna – Bratislava, Slovakia – Brno, Czech Republic (B,L,D) 56 + 121 kms

Breakfast in hotel, check out and drive to Bratislava, the Capital of the Slovakia. Visit the Castle and drive through the city. Post lunch, drive to Brno, enroute crossing the Slovak – Czech border.   Evening is free to explore Brno, the country’s second-largest city and Napoleon’s headquarters during the Battle of the Three Emperors at nearby Austerlitz. Overnight in Brno.

DAY   4 :: Brno – Prague (B,L,D) 185 kms

Breakfast in hotel, check out and undertake an orientation tour of Brno including visits to Spilberk Castle, Peter and Paul Cathedral and Old Town Hall (Stara Radnice), followed by early lunch. In the afternoon, drive through the rich farmlands of Moravia and Bohemia to Prague. Enroute visit the town of Kutna Hora including visiting the Church of St Barbara and the Old Mint.

Optional : Visit the Karlstejn Castle enroute to Prague

Optional : Outing to explore Prague by night including witnessing the fabulous Krizik’s Music Fountain & Dancing House.

DAY   5 :: In Prague (B,L)

Morning, after breakfast in hotel proceed for sightseeing with a Local Guide includes a visit to Hradcany Castle Grounds. Also see Lobkowicz Palace, St. Vitus Cathedral, Clementinum, the Old Town Square, the Jewish ghetto, Charles Bridge, Astronomical Clock, Rudolfinum, Palach’s Square, Powder Gate and Wenceslas Square. Also witness the Changing of the Guard. The afternoon is free and three optionals are available.. Tonight you can try out traditional dishes at one of Prague’s fine restaurants.

Optional : Visit Crystal Glassworks on outskirts of Prague (Nizbor or other) after lunch

Optional : Visit Skoda Automobile Works – Museum & Factory – after lunch ( children under 12 yrs not allowed)

Optional : Enjoy Czech Dinner with Czech Dancing performance and unlimited drinks

DAY   6 :: Prague – Wroclaw, Poland (B,Packed L,D)

In the morning after breakfast in hotel, check out and proceed to take  RegioJet Train from Praha Hlavni Nadr to Ostrava (arrive at 1245 hrs), where you transfer by coach / appropriate vehicle to Wroclaw in Poland, and in doing so, cross the Polish border and enjoy vistas of rural life in the fertile central plains enroute. On arrival, an orientation tour of Wroclaw before check into hotel. Overnight in Wroclaw.

 DAY   7 :: Wroclaw – Warsaw (B,L,D)  303 kms

In the morning after breakfast in hotel, check out and proceed to visit the city of Wroclaw to include a visit to the Ostro Tumski, Tumski Bridge, Opera House and a walking tour of the Old Town, Town Hall (Ratusz) and Market Square. Post lunch, drive to Warsaw. On arrival, check into hotel for overnight. Overnight in Warsaw.

DAY   8 :: In Warsaw (B,L,D)

Your Local Guide will tell you about the tormented, often tragic history of this important gateway city between East and West. See the medieval Stare Miasto (Old Quarter) with its market square and 14th-century Cathedral of St. John, the “wedding cake” Palace of Culture and Science, neoclassical Lazienki Palace and Amphitheatre, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier , Monument to the Warsaw Uprising Fighters, Castle Square (Plac Zamkowy) and the remnants of the Jewish ghetto. In the Historical Museum a moving film shows the city before and after wartime destruction. Afternoon and evening at leisure and two optionals are available. Overnight in Warsaw.

Optional : Excursion to Royal Castle (Zamek Krolewski).

DAY   9 :: Warsaw–Czestochowa–Auschwitz–Krakow (B,L,D)  207 + 86 + 400 kms

This morning, visit Jasna Góra, the monastery near Czestochowa, and admire its Black Madonna, which is venerated as the “Queen of Poland” and has become the country’s national symbol. Next, stop in Auschwitz to visit what is left of the Concentration Camp, a chilling reminder of the Holocaust. Evening arrival in Krakow. Overnight in Krakow.

DAY   10 :: In Krakow – Depart for Budapest, Hungary by Overnight Train through Slovakia – (B,L,D)

Morning check out after breakfast and keep luggage in concierge. Later sightseeing with a Local Guide in ancient Krakow, for centuries the residence of Polish kings. See the Market Square (Rynek Glowny), the 14th-century Jagiellonian University, Barbakan, St. Mary’s Church, Bazylika Archikatedralna and Wawel Royal Castle. Free time later to explore this interesting town at your own pace. Post early dinner, collect your luggage and transfer to Krakow GL Osobowy Train Station to catch overnight Train 402 at 2154 hrs to Budapest.

Optional : Excursion to Wieliczka Salt Mine

DAY   11 :: In Budapest (B,L)

Arrive in Budapest at 0835 hrs. Your Local Guide takes you through Eastern Europe’s most cosmopolitan city. See elegant Andrassy Avenue, the Thermal Baths, and the world’s second-largest Jewish synagogue. Post lunch, check into hotel.  Later, from the lacy lookout towers of Fishermen’s Bastion, enjoy a panoramic view of the sprawling city. Then, visit the 13th-century Matthias Coronation Church and Heroes’ Square. Afternoon at leisure. Tonight, a delectable optional Hungarian specialty dinner can be arranged. Overnight in Budapest.

DAY   12 :: In Budapest (B,D)

After breakfast in hotel, visit the majestic Hungarian Parliament and the Godolo Palace. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Budapest.

Optional : Visit the Horse Show with lunch

DAY   13 :: Budapest – Return Flight (B)  

Your vacation ends with breakfast this morning. Transfer to airport to catch flight back home by flight TK 1036 at 1050 hrs. Arrive in Istanbul at 1345 hrs. Transfer to connecting flight TK 720 departing at 1935 hrs.

DAY   14 :: Arrive Back Home

Arrive at 0430 hrs in Mumbai.
